Family Ministry
Welcome from Miss Angie
Families in Worship
At Trinity Lutheran Church, we believe children are not a distraction from worship — they are a beautiful part of it.
So first: take a deep breath and relax. Wiggles, whispers, dropped crayons, and the occasional squawk are all signs of life. Your children are welcome here. Truly.
Let Them See, Hear, and Wonder
We encourage families to sit where children can fully experience what’s happening….the colors, the music, the candles, the movement, the voices, the rhythm of the service. Worship engages all the senses, and children learn by seeing and participating long before they understand every word.
As we worship, feel free to quietly explain what’s happening:
“Now we’re praying.”
“We’re listening to God’s Word.”
“This is when we sing together.”
Invite them to join in on their parts:
Amen. Lord, have mercy. Our Father. I believe.
These words belong to them, too.
Most of all, let them see you worship. Children learn faith by following your lead through singing, praying, listening, kneeling, receiving.
Need a Little Space?
If your child needs a break, that’s okay. We have a Family Room available with:
Comfortable seating
A changing table
A live video feed of the service
You’re welcome to step in and out as needed — and come right back when you’re ready. Whether you remain in the sanctuary or use the Family Room, you are still fully part of worship.
Nursing mothers are always welcome to feed babies wherever you are most comfortable.
A Word to the Congregation
We joyfully remember the words of Jesus Christ:
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Children are a gift to the Church. As a church family, we promise to smile, encourage, assist, and make space for you as you nurture faith in your children.
We are so glad you are here — just as you are.
